FOUNDERS STORY
In 2016, Wendy MoMa Michel birthed CROWN as a captivating monochrome drawing in pen and ink, embodying regality, curiosity, and depth. The evolution of this artwork into a graphic, vibrant series of paintings and interactive installations brought about a transformative experience for MoMa, resulting in a significant decrease in her anxiety and depression within just 90 days.
Inspired by her personal journey, MoMa embarked on a mission to make her work accessible and inclusive, employing guerrilla marketing strategies, coloring and sketchbooks, wall projections, and interactive elements to share her story. As her exhibits unfolded, MoMa's appreciation for research and community engagement deepened.
From 2019 to 2021, MoMa delved further into art as therapy, creating captivating design collages and thought-provoking audiovisuals that documented her mental health journey. It was during this time that her introduction to neuroscience began, using her drawings as a pathway to uncover underlying health issues and forming the bedrock of our research.
After seven years of creative exploration, CROWN by MoMa has laid the groundwork for our transformative process to Creative Wellness. Building upon this foundation, we are actively developing products, programs, and processes that shape the brain, body and behavior.
